How Scoring Works

The mechanics below apply everywhere. Point values and on/off toggles can differ by league — see your league's own Scoring rules for its current numbers.

Confidence picks

Each week, pick a winner for every game and assign it a confidence value from 1 to 10. Values can repeat — use 10 on as many games as you're sure about. Pick correctly and you earn that many points; pick wrong and you lose them.

NFL games, and NCAAF games involving a Power 4 team, count at 2× your confidence value — so a correct 10-confidence pick on one of those games swings your total by 20 points, not 10. NCAAF games between two Group of 5 (or FCS) teams count at the normal 1× rate.

NBA weeks run Monday to Sunday, with about 50 games. Every game counts at 1×, except the week's ~10 featured games and each night's Game of the Night, which count at 2×. Featured games are picked by team records; the Game of the Night is voted on by players, and its vote closes 24 hours before that night's first tip-off. The Game of the Night also gets the Game of the Week bonus picks (against the spread and a score prediction).

Full-slate bonus

Pick every game in a week and earn a flat +5 bonus on top — there's never a penalty for skipping games, only this bonus for not skipping any.

A league can instead split this into two independently-earnable halves for NCAAF weeks: +5 for picking all of that week's Group of 5 games, +5 more for picking all of that week's Power 4 games (up to +10 total) — like the flat version above, this is about picking every game in that group, not getting them all right. This only changes how the bonus splits — it never changes how individual picks themselves are scored.

Curated weekly slate

A league can opt into hand-picking which specific games count each week, instead of scoring the full synced slate — a league's manager chooses as many or as few games as they want, every week. Games left out are ignored for that league's standings and bonuses only, the same way any other scope exclusion on this page works — picks themselves stay global, this only changes what a given league counts.

Every bonus above still works under a curated slate, just scoped to whatever was picked that week — the full-slate bonus means picking every curated game, a perfect-slate bonus means getting every curated game right. The Accuracy board's minimum-picks requirement also scales down to match, so it can't stay out of reach for a league that curates down to just a handful of games a week.

Perfect-slate bonuses

Separate from the full-slate bonus above: a league can also award a bonus for getting every in-scope pick in a group correct, not just picked. These are off by default — an owner has to turn each one on — and they stack with each other and with the full-slate bonus.

For NCAAF: +100 (default) for correctly picking every in-scope Power 4 game that week, +100 (default) for every in-scope Group of 5 game, and +500 (default) for every in-scope NCAAF game that week combined — a member who goes perfect with all three turned on earns all three at once.

For NFL: +300 (default) for correctly picking every NFL game that week.

"In-scope" follows whatever that league already restricts itself to — a league limited to just the Big 12, for example, only needs the Big 12 games right to earn its Power 4 bonus, same as every other scope-aware bonus on this page.

Game of the Week

Each week, one game is flagged as that week's Game of the Week — either the site admin's own pick, or a pick your league's manager made for your league specifically. Both sources can be true at once for different games; either one makes a game eligible for the bonuses below.

Against the spread: on the Game of the Week, you can optionally call which team covers the spread, separate from your normal winner pick. Calling it right earns a bonus on top (+20 by default) — a league can change the point value or turn this off entirely.

Predict the score: also on the Game of the Week, you can optionally guess the final score. The closest guesses earn a bonus (+5/+3/+1 by default for 1st/2nd/3rd closest, ties sharing a tier) — a league can change these point values or turn the bonus off. Unlike the other bonuses on this page, this one is judged separately within each league: the closest guesses are whoever's closest among that league's own members, not every player site-wide, so two leagues can hand out this bonus to different people for the same game.

Both bonuses are optional and additive — never entering a prediction just means no shot at the bonus, no downside.

Accuracy standings

A separate view (where a league has it turned on) ranks players by pick accuracy weighted by how lopsided each game was, rather than by raw points — a correct call on a heavy favorite counts for less than a correct call on a close game, so there's no advantage to picking only the safe games.

Your league's standings vs. the site-wide Leaderboard

These are two separate, unrelated totals. The site-wide Leaderboard always uses one fixed set of the settings above, independent of any other league you belong to — your total there never changes based on which leagues you're also in. Each league you join instead keeps its own separate total, shown only in that league's own Standings, computed under that league's own settings.

So if you're in a league that turns off the score-prediction bonus, or changes its point value, that only changes your total in that league's own Standings — your site-wide Leaderboard total is unaffected, and vice versa. Being in five leagues with five different rule sets doesn't change your global total at all; it just gives you five separate league totals alongside it.
